Pre-ride discussion of general bicycle mechanics, cycling basics, or a specific training or riding technique, followed by road drills and a short tempo ride along Grosse Pointe Boulevard and to Windmill Pointe. We will meet at and return to the Boll Campus Center parking lot at University Liggett School. All riders must have their own bike, helmet, adequate hydration and, if not previously submitted, their signed Rider Waiver.
Ride distance: 5 - 10 miles. Average pace: 10 - 18 mph. Max pace: 18 - 20 mph.

Roughly 2.5 hour speed training ride meeting at and returning to the Moosejaw store on Kercheval in the Grosse Pointe Village. Depending on the size and experience level of our riders, we will either join or shadow another group of riders, working our way on sides streets to downtown Detroit, along the Riverwalk, to Belle Isle and back. All riders must have their own bike, helmet, adequate hydration and, if not previously submitted, their signed Rider Waiver.
Ride distance: 25 - 30 miles. Average pace: 16 - 18 mph. Max pace: 22 - 25 mph.

Tempo Training Ride (Copy)

Roughly 2.5 hour tempo training ride, meeting at and returning to the Windmill Pointe Park parking lot. We’ll start with a quick pre-ride overview of the cycling principles we’ll be practicing and begin with several circuits around the Windmill Pointe loop. We will then follow sides streets down to Belle Isle in Detroit, where we’ll pick up the tempo for a few laps, working on moderately-paced racing drills and tactics. All riders must have their own bike, helmet, adequate hydration and, if not previously submitted, their signed Rider Waiver.
Ride distance: 20 - 24 miles. Average pace: 14 - 16 mph. Max pace: 18 - 20 mph.
